Your Adventure Through Beautiful Mountain Scenery

The husky sledding route stretches for approximately 6 kilometers through Sulitjelma's breathtaking mountain landscape as part of a two-hour, all-inclusive experience.
Accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, guests glide along picturesque trails through snow-covered forests and quiet valleys, and across frozen lakes, with several stops at idyllic viewpoints that are perfect for photos and quiet moments in nature.
The guide takes 2–4 guests at a time on a large sled, creating an intimate and personal experience, while the remaining guests relax by the crackling campfire or in the cozy Storgamme (large traditional Sami tent).
During the tour, guests take turns driving the dog team together with the guide, enjoying a truly hands-on experience while feeling safe, supported, and well looked after. These shared moments of teamwork and laughter make the adventure memorable and accessible for all participants.

The tours offer a rare opportunity to connect closely with these incredible animals. After the exhilarating ride, guests are invited into the dog yard to spend time cuddling the huskies, helping to remove their harnesses, and feeding them together.

Briefing, History & Guided Experience

Before the husky sledding adventure begins, experienced instructors provide a thorough and easy-to-follow safety briefing so that everyone feels comfortable, confident, and ready for the journey ahead.

Once prepared, guests learn how to steer a sled and work with a team of 8–10 energetic Siberian huskies together with the guide. The guide demonstrates how to balance, brake, and communicate with the dogs, turning first-timers into confident co-mushers in just a short time. In addition, the guide shares fascinating stories about the origins of Siberian huskies and the long tradition of sled dogs. Guests discover how these remarkable animals were originally bred by the Chukchi people of Siberia for endurance, loyalty, and teamwork in harsh Arctic conditions.
The guide is available throughout the tour to answer questions and share more insights about the huskies and life with sled dogs.

The tours are designed for everyone, whether an experienced adventurer or completely new to dog sledding. No special skills are required—only a sense of adventure and an appreciation for the outdoors.  Frequently Asked Questions 

• Do I need experience to go husky sledding?

No previous experience is required. A short introduction is provided before the tour, and the guide is there to assist along the way.

• What should I wear for husky sledding?

Wear warm, layered clothing, including thermal underwear, a wool or fleece mid-layer, wind- and waterproof outerwear, warm socks, gloves or mittens, a hat, and a scarf or buff. Sturdy winter boots are recommended. Check the “Bring” section for detailed packing tips.

• How cold does it get during the tour?

Temperatures can range from just below freezing to well below -15°C, depending on the weather and time of season. Wind and speed on the sled can make it feel colder, so dressing in layers is important to stay comfortable.

• We also have a limited number of overalls, hats, mittens, and shoes available to borrow free of charge.
